Sunday Heroic Runs
Hey everyone, some of you may have already heard but starting this Sunday I (Applebiscuit/Dessalines/*Saltines*) will be running a chill Heroic Castle Nathria group.
3 Goal of Sunday Heroic Group
- Help players who have outgeared normal get better gear. This is not a group intended to “carry” anyone. Everyone will be expected to pull their own weight. If we don’t have enough dps to down a boss, I will not ask people who are performing well to switch to their mains. Instead, people who are not performing well will be asked to sit.
- Give players an opportunity to unlock more options in their weekly vault.
- Prepare players who would like to join the mythic raid team. Some can consider this group as the Costa G League (In fact I may end up officially calling it that). Players that need to learn heroic mechanics, or work on getting their personal performance up can use this group for that.
Schedule
Every Sunday at 8pm Eastern Time. I’ve decided to move back an hour from the usual raid times for two reasons
- I have work on Mondays and I understand that a lot of people on the east coast don’t love staying up super late. Moving the time back an hour will help alleviate that, and since most people don’t work 9–5 on Sundays this shouldn’t prevent most west coast players from joining.
- I have a hard time talking in Discord after my wife goes to bed because our bedroom and my office share a wall and she is a ninja sleeper, so a compromise was made that I don’t have to worry about being too loud as long we end at 11pm. I dream of the day I own a house where my office is on the complete opposite side from the bedroom, and I can rage at people all night.
Requirements to Join
- Minimum ilvl without a full Castle Nathria completion on normal — 200
- Minimum ilvl with a full Castle Nathria completion on normal— 190
Note: You do not need to have completed Castle Nathria on a certain character in order to join on that character. As long as you have completed CN normal on any character, you just need 190 ilvl to join. This is just to make sure people with lower gear understand the fights, and incentivize people to run on normal before coming to heroic. Also while this will get you in, if we are unable to down a boss after multiple attempts and you are underperforming, you may be asked to sit out.
Loot Distribution
I’ve been thinking a lot about this and would love some feedback on it, but I think for now we will just do /roll for tradeable loot. I want people to feel free to switch up which character they bring to the raid, but I also want to help people who are focusing on getting 1 character geared for mythic raiding a better way of doing so. I don’t know how consistent players will be in attendance and I’d rather wait and see if SK Loot will cater to the needs of the group better than /roll instead of just assuming. I think what will happen in reality is people’s characters will quickly transition in/out of this group so SK Loot won’t be a good fit. I may end up changing my mind if I’m wrong, but for now it’ll just be /roll.
Future Goals
This totally depends on the needs of the guild in the future, but if the fun-run ever evolves to heroic runs, then I would like to make the Sunday run an opportunity for players to make gold by selling raid carries. It’s a really time-efficient way to make gold and with the weekly vault it will still benefit our characters’ gear progression. Obviously at that point the requirements to enter would be higher since we will be trying to carry as much people as possible to optimize the gold we can make.
